The "DUGA" association from Solin invites you to the third lecture in the series titled Forms of violence in the family/community, which is held as part of the Solin against violence project: research, prevention, solidarity. The lectures are intended for all interested citizens, and especially for experts, psychology students and psychotherapy educators who are interested in providing support to victims of violence.
The lecture will be held on Tuesday, November 25th, starting at 18 pm at the premises of the ''DUGA'' Association in Solin, Zvonimirova 75.
The third lecture in a series of six is dedicated to the issue of intimate partner violence. The lecture, with elements of a workshop, will cover definitions of intimate partner violence, risk and protective factors, and recognition of early signs. Special attention will be paid to raising awareness of the social and psychological mechanisms that contribute to violence, as well as the possibilities of prevention and seeking support. The lecture is led by Katarina Šutalo, Master of Psychology and 5th year Gestalt Psychotherapy student under supervision.
This lecture is being held on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which is globally recognized as a day to raise awareness about violence against women and encourage society to actively combat this problem. The link of the lecture with this date is particularly important because intimate partner violence is one of the most common, and often the least reported, forms of violence against women. Education, recognition of the signs, and information about available resources are key steps in prevention and protection of victims.
Registration is required for participation via pattern, and all participants who attend the entire series of lectures will be issued a certificate of participation. Participants will be informed in due time about all dates and possible changes. For more information, please contact us via e-mail:
The lecture series is part of the continuation of the work of the "DUGA" Association on increasing awareness, understanding and education of the local community about the problem of gender-based domestic violence. All activities are carried out as part of the main project SEE CHANGE, which is led at the regional level by the Ecumenical Women's Initiative from Omiš. The program is co-financed by the CERV DAPHNE funds of the European Union.
