The new edition of the ULTRA Europe festival will take place from July 10th to 12th, 2026 in Split
The official film of the ULTRA Europe 2025 festival has arrived, a multi-minute time machine into the moments filled with music, emotions and memories that marked the summer for tens of thousands of Ultranauts. Although the eleventh edition of the festival ended a few months ago, the scenes of this musical delirium are brought back to life through a carefully told film story whose anchor is firmly tied to the city of Split.
It is a city whose layers of history, tradition and cultural heritage naturally intertwine with the energy of the modern era that the festival brings. This retrospective takes us back to the very heart of the festival experience, sending out a vivid image that is hard to remain immune to, but also invites all those who have not yet felt the infectious energy of the ULTRA Europe festival to join us next summer!
This year's Aftermovie takes viewers on a personal journey that grows into a collective experience of a musical community. The story begins far from the stage, in the silence of nature, where the main protagonist symbolically begins her entry into the world of ULTRA Europe. The moment she steps onto the festival grounds, her inner narrative transforms into a shared experience of tens of thousands of Ultranauts. Scenes of hands in the air, jumps, shouts and continuous waves of energy create a visual symphony in which the audience becomes the driving force of every frame. The camera also captures Split from the perspective of the Ultranauts who are just discovering the combination of historical depth, tradition and the lively urban rhythm that leads towards the Youth Park. In this meeting of the old and the new, a special dynamic of the city was created, which in the past eleven years has become a destination to which the past has given weight, and ULTRA Europe has opened horizons towards the future. This ascending visual energetic rhythm reflects the way in which Split has grown with the festival and transformed into a place that is impossible to ignore on the global map of music destinations - "We watch this city grow and grow and it's one of the most beautiful places in the world."
More than 80 million views of the films so far clearly show that in the eyes of the world, Croatia is not just another location on the map, but a place to live and feel. From the tranquility of the Adriatic Sea and the wilderness of mountain peaks to cities that preserve centuries of history, it is a country that offers contrasts blended into an experience that visitors return to again and again with the same enthusiasm.
Behind its modest size, it hides an incredible ability to exceed expectations and to attract and retain visitors with emotion, landscape and tireless spirit. Twelve years ago, this authenticity also attracted the ULTRA Europe festival, a global brand that found a home in Croatia where it could grow and develop, intertwined with the culture of the host country and city. Since then, the festival has not only become an event on the calendar, but also an important part of the identity of the host. It has fit into the rhythm of the country, become part of its tradition and contributed to the creation of a new musical era. Regardless of the time and year, one thing remains unchanged: ULTRA Europe will continue to create moments that connect people, emotions and music, and proudly spread the image of Croatia as a place that inspires millions around the world.
The filming and production are once again signed by a world-famous team Final Kid Films, and the project, worth more than 300 thousand euros, is based on a clearly defined conceptual and visual direction this year. Director Charly Friedrichs He particularly emphasized that ULTRA Europe is a unique creative challenge precisely because of its multidimensional character.

Rarely does a project simultaneously carry so many layers - historical depth, natural beauty, the musical energy of the festival as a global brand and the emotional charge of the audience that turns every frame into a story in itself. This combination, as Friedrichs claims, is the greatest asset of this festival and allows it to create a narrative that is not just recorded entertainment, but a cinematic experience that combines spectacle, identity and a sense of belonging. This year, he particularly emphasized the importance of discovering locations such as Cetina Eye and Klis, places that, with their power and symbolism, further enrich the story of ULTRA as a festival that lives in the intertwining of the past, landscape and contemporary rhythm.
The creative framework is built on the idea of the ULTRA Europe festival as an experience that connects two time axes, Split as a historical city whose identity strength stretches back centuries and the festival as an experiential phenomenon of today that shapes its contemporary rhythm. Aerial shots of the Split panorama serve as the foundation of the narrative structure, a motif of past centuries that sets the emotional tone, reveals the context and evokes its cultural depth.
They are contrasted by the energetic dynamics of the festival, which takes on the role of the engine of the story and, through editing and rhythm, builds a progression from personal to collective experience. In this framework, the dragon animation functions as a conceptual bridge that serves not only for aesthetic appeal, but also as a thoughtfully integrated link with the globally recognizable film identity of Split. This creates a double value, narrative and destination, because the dragon at the same time tells the story of the mythical power of the location and reminds of its role on the global pop-cultural scene, given that Split was the host of another world-famous spectacle, the film “Game of Thrones”. The final result is a film that combines the documentary authenticity of the festival as a true summer adventure with film elements of the surreal, building a whole in which history, modernity and spectacle complement each other, not exclude each other.
