Ante Mihanović announced his candidacy for president of the HDZ County Committee of Split-Dalmatia County today. He says his goal is to unite the county from the islands to the hinterland, strengthen the party's infrastructure, and put the HDZ at the service of concrete development solutions.
His candidacy was supported by, among others:Stipe Čogelja – deputy prefect,Denis Ivanovic – Mayor of Kaštela,Port of Kolovrat – Mayor of Imotski and Jacob Vetma – Mayor of the Municipality of Klis.
The program for the next mandate is based on three key pillars. The first pillar is solid foundations, which include loyalty to family and Christian values. HDZ remains committed to preserving the values of the Homeland War and the defenders, who are a permanent beacon in political decisions.
The second pillar is the fight for the future, with an emphasis on demographic revitalization. The focus will be on creating the preconditions for the stay and return of young families, which includes incentives for young people, the construction of kindergartens, housing construction and new jobs.
The third pillar includes new economic strategies and strategic networking. It is planned to stimulate the high-tech and IT sectors, with the aim of transforming the county into a regional hub for digital innovation.
Small and family entrepreneurs in tourism will also be supported, with an emphasis on sustainable tourism outside mass destinations. Agricultural development will be focused on strengthening family farms and branding indigenous products, while the construction of strategic transport infrastructure will focus on connecting the county with Europe through a high-speed rail project.

Internal elections in HDZ from September 10 to December 15
The electoral assemblies of the territorial organizations of the HDZ will be held:
- from September 25 to October 26, 2025 in the basic organizations of the HDZ
- from October 27 to November 24, 2025 in municipal and city organizations and HDZ city district organizations
- from November 25 to December 15, 2025 in the county organizations and the City Organization of the HDZ of the City of Zagreb.
Elections for presidents and vice-presidents of municipal and city organizations, HDZ city district organizations, county organizations and the City Organization of the City of Zagreb HDZ will be held:
- on Sunday, October 26, 2025 - first round
- on Sunday, November 2, 2025 - second round
