
Thousands of pilgrims will visit the Shrine of Our Lady in Sinj again this year to celebrate the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on August 15. Pilgrims will be able to confess at the shrine from 3 a.m. The first "dawn" mass is at 4 a.m., and then masses are held every hour until 9:30 a.m., when a ceremonial procession will begin from the Shrine of Our Lady, in which the entire Sinj, Cetinska krajina region and the wider area will participate.
Alkar boys in old uniforms will carry an old painting of Our Lady adorned with gold and precious stones and numerous votive gifts, with which the city and the Cetina region are blessed on all four sides.
The ceremonial procession and Eucharistic celebration will be led by the Archbishop of Split and Makarska, Zdenko Križić. From 15 p.m., masses will be celebrated every hour. The ceremonial evening concelebrated mass on Dr. F. Tuđman Square at 18 p.m. will be led by the Provincial of the Franciscan Province of the Most Holy Redeemer, Fr. Siniša Balajić. The mass at 21 p.m. in the sanctuary will be led by Msgr. Antun Sente, rector of the Shrine of St. Joseph in Karlovac.
The shrine of Our Lady of Pojišana in Split is celebrating the feast of the Assumption of Mary - the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary for the city and its surroundings on Friday, August 15. Morning mass is at 8 a.m. At 10:45 a.m. the image of Our Lady will be welcomed in front of the church of St. Dominic. A procession to the cathedral and a mass at 11 a.m. will follow. After the mass, the image of Our Lady will remain exposed for the faithful to pray until 6 p.m. At 5:30 p.m. the Rosary of Our Lady will be prayed. At 6 p.m. a procession with the image of Our Lady will depart from the cathedral to the shrine of Our Lady of Pojišana, where Fr. Archbishop Zdenko Križić will lead a solemn mass.
