Prime Minister Andrej Plenković participated today in a video meeting of the Coalition of the Willing ahead of the Alaska summit. He stressed that it is necessary to reach an agreement on a ceasefire as a prerequisite for the start of a serious peace process in which Ukraine will participate.
He stressed the importance of respecting international law and territorial integrity, providing security guarantees and support to Ukraine, and adopting further sanctions packages.
"It is necessary to achieve a just and sustainable peace that must not humiliate the victim and reward the aggressor, because Russia's aggression against Ukraine has broader consequences for European and global security," said Plenković after the meeting, adding that the Government will continue to support Ukraine in preserving its sovereignty and provide it with comprehensive assistance.
