The greeting "Ready for Homeland" will not disappear, but will continue to be repeated by young people, Skejo asserted, adding that the Croatian people have their own foundations, "long before us there were Croatian minds, patriots and heroes, and we are only their heirs."
"I say to those who ban the Croatian salute, which is the foundation of the Croatian people - their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will also shout 'For the homeland, ready' when the Croatian flag is raised in the barracks," he said.
When asked by a journalist whether he meant the Republic of Croatia when he spoke about the Independent State of Croatia in his speech, he replied that no one should bother the Independent State of Croatia. "It has its own foundation, its own stronghold, and it should not be ashamed of that," he added.
