US President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he would shorten the 50-day deadline he had given Russia to reach an agreement with Ukraine on a ceasefire.
"I am disappointed in President Putin," Trump said in Scotland, speaking alongside British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
"I will shorten the 50 days I gave him to a smaller number," the Republican added, without saying when the new deadline was.
On July 14, Trump gave the Russian president 50 days to end the war in Ukraine, under threat of severe sanctions.
On Monday, he said he had "talked a lot with Putin" and "got along well" with him.
But the Russian president "launches missiles at cities like Kiev and kills many people in nursing homes and everywhere else, with bodies lying in the middle of the street."
