The University of Split enrolled almost seven percent more freshmen in the 2025/2026 academic year compared to last year, or 314 more, achieving the best enrollment result in the last five years, the University announced.
The greatest interest this year was recorded in the study programs of the Faculty of Medicine (Medicine, Dental Medicine, and Pharmacy), which are fully filled. Also, quotas were filled in the studies of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urban Planning, and Geodesy and Geoinformatics.
At the Faculty of Health Studies, full-time studies in Midwifery, Nursing, Radiological Technology, and Medical Laboratory Diagnostics are full, and the situation is similar with most programs at the Faculty of Maritime Studies.
Among the social and humanities studies, Pedagogy, Preschool Education, English Language, and Psychology in English stand out, while there are still some places available in the studies of Sociology, Teacher Education, History, Art History, Kinesiology, and Economics.
At the Faculty of Science, all places in the Biology study program have been filled, while only one place remains in the Informatics study program. At the Department of Professional Studies, the Electrical Power Engineering and Electronics studies are fully filled.
The University also points out that the Communication and Media study program, as well as Mediterranean Agriculture, are among the most sought-after, which, according to them, confirms the justification for launching independent university studies with the aim of retaining young people in Split.
According to official data on candidates enrolled in the first year of undergraduate university, integrated undergraduate and graduate, and professional studies, the University of Split has attracted a large number of high school graduates this year, thanks to, as they state, the continuous improvement of the quality of study programs, student standards, and greater recognition and visibility in the public.
As part of these activities, the University Fair is also worth mentioning, which is traditionally held for seven days and allows graduates to have direct contact with students and teachers and to receive information about the conditions and methods of studying.
For high school graduates who were unable to enroll in their desired program in the summer term, there is still the possibility of applying for the fall enrollment period for the remaining available places in the study programs of the University of Split.
