
Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on the Ukrainian Black Sea port of Odesa early Saturday, setting fire to at least one high-rise building and killing one resident, the city's mayor, Hennadiy Trukhanov, said, adding that information was being gathered on the number of injured. N1.
"All emergency services are working in enhanced mode," Trukhanov wrote on the Telegram messaging app.
Trukhanov said earlier that at least 20 drones hovered over the city, a frequent target of Russian attacks. He also said that at least one multi-story building was on fire.
Images posted online show a fire engulfing floors near the top of a building and emergency services moving an extended ladder into place.
Parents were seen carrying their children to safety in blankets.
