
Over the weekend, traffic police officers of the Split-Dalmatia Police Department carried out increased activities aimed at monitoring road traffic participants, with special emphasis on detecting the most serious violations that endanger road safety.
As part of the activities carried out, a total of 629 violations, most of which relate to:
- driving under the influence of alcohol – 110 violations,
- exceeding the speed limit – 143 violations,
- not using a seat belt – 73 violations,
- improper use of mobile phones – 31 violation,
- management before acquiring the right to manage – 10 violations,
- driving despite the ban – 6 violations,
- driving unregistered or technically defective vehicles – 11 violations,
- other violations – 245 cases.
The highest alcohol concentration determined was 2,24 g / kg, while the highest recorded speed limit was 171 km/h.
Split Maritime Police recorded 50 violations in recent weeks
The Maritime Police of the Split-Dalmatia Police Department conducted a series of intensified surveillance in the waters of its jurisdiction from June 23 to 29, 2025, with the aim of preserving safety at sea and preventing illegal behavior.
During the aforementioned period, a total of 50 different actions were recorded, mostly related to planing within the prescribed prohibition zones, unauthorized anchoring, and failure to possess legally required documentation (such as a boatmaster's license, insurance policy, or vignette).
Such activities are a continuation of the continuous work of the maritime police aimed at maintaining a high level of safety for all participants in maritime traffic, especially sailors whose presence increases significantly during the summer months. By acting in a timely manner and constantly being present in the field, police officers contribute to preventing accidents, protecting human lives and preserving maritime order.
