
The fire that broke out on Saturday morning in the area of Pisak and Marušić, east of Omiš, is being extinguished by 145 firefighters and five air tankers. The fire, which is threatening houses, has not yet been brought under control, the Split County Fire Operations Center reported in the afternoon.
"145 firefighters with 43 vehicles are engaged in extinguishing the fire on the ground, and five helicopters and two air tractors are helping to extinguish the fire from the air," the Fire Department told Hina.
Chief Fire Chief Slavko Tucaković said that firefighters are fighting for every house with superhuman efforts. "Firefighters are defending everything," Tucaković stressed, repeating that several houses in the Pisak and Mimice areas had burned down.
Due to the fire, the Marušići settlement was left without electricity, according to residents of the settlement.
