Due to a fire that broke out in the Pisak and Marušić areas on Saturday morning, some locals and tourists from the settlement of Mimice were evacuated, and if necessary, they will be accommodated in a hall in Omiš, said Chief Fire Chief Slavko Tucaković.
"We have prepared a hall in Omiš for accommodation, if necessary. For now, this need does not exist, and part of the locals and tourists have been moved out of their accommodation," said Hini Tucaković.
He said that the fire "burned down several houses, but the most important thing is that no one was killed or injured."
Two Canadians who were involved in extinguishing this fire, retreated to Resnik airport due to strong gusts of wind. One of them should take off again soon and get involved in firefighting, Tucakovic said.
