The village of Visoka celebrated the feast of Corpus Christi through the event "Corpse - Visoka in the Heart", for the second year in a row, organized by the Association for the Preservation, Protection and Development of Cultural Heritage and Tradition - Obor Visoka.
The central mass celebration in the Church of All Saints was led by Šibenik Bishop Tomislav Rogić, and the celebration began with a prayer at the remains of the chapel of Our Lady of Seven Sorrows in Obor, where the faithful, together with the bishop, prayed for all the deceased residents of Visoka.
After the Holy Mass and procession, a cultural and artistic program was held in which the following participated: Visočki pivači, KUU Zvona Zagore, KUD Srce Zagore and KUD Dinara Kijevo, bringing a wealth of tradition and music to the gathering.
The program was opened by a professional presenter, and the gathering was addressed on behalf of the Unešić Municipality by the new mayor, Marko Parat, who warmly greeted everyone present and congratulated the organizers on their efforts and the importance of preserving local heritage.
The celebration continued in a warm atmosphere with local food, drinks and songs. More than 700 people participated in the event, which testifies to its growing importance.
The organizers thank everyone who helped organize the event – especially the locals, donors, and the municipal and county authorities.
It is also important to recall the rich history of this area: Visoka was once a deanery, which means that in church and legal terms it was a parish superior to the surrounding parishes - a testament to the village's former spiritual and organizational importance.
The "Body - High in the Heart" event continues to grow, and the organizers are announcing an even more comprehensive program next year.
