In the past three days, ten drivers who committed the most serious traffic violations have been brought to the competent court in an urgent procedure, and two more drivers will be brought to court this morning. In five proceedings, the court accepted the police's proposal and ordered the drivers to be detained for a period of 5 to 15 days, after which they were sent to prison.
The drivers were alleged to have committed the most serious traffic violations, such as driving under the influence of alcohol, refusing to undergo a drug test, driving without a driving license, driving despite their driver's license having been revoked and confiscated, and despite previously issued driving bans.
In the same period, police officers removed 66 vehicles from traffic, 41 of which were motorcycles, due to suspicion of a technical defect in the vehicle, which was confirmed during an extraordinary technical inspection.
136 drivers were banned from traffic for driving under the influence of alcohol and refusing to take a drug test, and the highest measured alcohol concentration was 2,57 g/kg and was measured in a driver of a passenger vehicle on Friday at 19:30 p.m.
A total of 851 traffic violations were sanctioned.
