The Aeronautical Technical Center (ZTC) has delivered the fourth Canadair CL-415 firefighting aircraft to the Croatian Air Force (HRZ), they reported on Tuesday.
"This is the fourth Canadair to undergo an annual inspection and complete ground and airborne checks. The work was carried out to the highest safety and quality standards," the statement said.
ZTC has so far delivered five Air Tractors to the Croatian Air Force, in accordance with the Dynamic Aircraft Delivery Plan for the upcoming firefighting season. All planned work was completed within the agreed deadlines, they pointed out.
"The successfully completed works are confirmation that ZTC has the capacity and professional employees to achieve its goals despite challenges and attempts to question our work," said the Aerospace Technical Center.
According to the delivery plan, ZTC still has one more Canadair and one Air Tractor to deliver.
In April, Defense Minister Ivan Anušić initiated the procedure to dismiss ZTC Director Ivica Vidović, citing a series of shortcomings in the state-owned company's operations. Anušić expressed concern at the time about the delay in aircraft for the firefighting season.
"These are the things that are why we have the problem we have and why we started the whole procedure of Mr. Vidović's dismissal," he said.
