Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić suddenly fell ill during a visit to the United States, after which he sought medical attention and after examination decided to return to Serbia, and is already on his way to Belgrade, Tanjug has learned, writes N1.
As a result, the President of Serbia did not appear at the main events for which he came to the US.
According to information from Tanjug, President Vučić fell ill in the early afternoon local time. At that moment, in the room with President Vučić, preparing for the meetings, were Minister of Finance Siniša Mali and Media Advisor to the President of Serbia, Suzana Vasiljević.
President Vučić's office will inform the public about what exactly this is about in the coming days.
During his stay in the US, he described the student protests in Serbia as "a sad picture of a bygone era", and then drew parallels with American politics, admitting that he has less weight as president than the US president. He also complained about the European Union, which he resents for criticizing him for going to Moscow on May 9 for the Victory Parade.
"Their only question is how to punish Serbia and me, and they ignore global crises, such as tensions between India and Pakistan or energy shortages. Their obsession is my going to Moscow."
As soon as he announced his departure to Moscow, messages came from Brussels that in that case, Serbia's path to joining the EU would be more difficult.
