- We are witnessing a historic turning point for KBC Split and a large number of patients who are gravitating to our hospital. This has put us on the European transplant map, which will enable us to make further progress and expand our activities. But we are most happy for patients with kidney diseases, because the start of this program will significantly improve their quality of treatment and life. Thank you to the Ministry of Health, KBC Zagreb and all our experts who have invested their time, knowledge and effort in order to succeed in this long-established goal - emphasized Assoc. The transplantation team consists of urologists, nephrologists, immunologists, anesthesiologists, microbiologists and pathologists, and the team leader is Assistant Professor Dr. Sc. Hrvoje Sosic. "I am extremely happy that our KBC Split, as the second largest hospital in Croatia and the largest in Dalmatia, has received a license for the kidney transplantation program, which is the most frequently transplanted solid organ. Finally, a long-standing wish has been realized thanks to the enthusiasm and dedication of all of us at KBC. The path has not been easy at all and I am pleased that we have met all the strict and demanding conditions, especially in the area of employee education," he pointed out. The satisfaction and pride of being part of the first transplantation team at KBC Split is also shared by the head of the Clinic for Urology, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sc.
