On Friday, a meeting of municipal mayors, the Mayor of Split-Dalmatia County and County Prefect Blaženko Boban with the Minister of Demography and Immigration Ivan Šipić was held at Digital Dalmatia in Split. They discussed demographic measures at the local, regional and national levels.
The meeting presented the measures of the Government of the Republic of Croatia for demographic revitalization.
The prefect reminded that the Split-Dalmatia County is implementing the project "Your Home Is Here", and he also called on the mayors and county governors to adopt their own measures. "After such high-quality measures for demography have been adopted, our obligation at the regional and local level is to attach ourselves to these measures with an additional piece of our own in this mosaic of demography. That is why I propose and I will say to the above and to all the leaders of local communities - adopt your own programs. Adopt programs that are linked to these measures, new measures of the Government in order to further improve and stimulate young people to stay in their hometown, to stay in their area. Mayors, mayors and county governors are the first demographers who should give their best and the most of themselves," the prefect stated.
"With the efforts of this ministry, the entire Government and all departments for this very important, very essential topic, which is, as we said, demography. You are very well aware that we have adopted a budget package worth 685 million euros. Of that, 484 million euros are earmarked for motherhood, fatherhood, parenthood, children. In a word, for the family," said Minister Šipić.
