In the atmosphere of the greatest Christian holiday, Easter, the Archdiocese of Split-Makarska announced the news of the death of Pope Francis, sending words of gratitude and prayer, emphasizing the spiritual connection with the deceased Holy Father and his pontificate.
- We are grateful for the testimony of his life and his service to the people of God as a monk, priest, bishop and pope, which is summarized in the motto "Miserando atque eligendo": Christ's gaze is full of mercy towards sinful man, and at the same time he chooses that same man to be the messenger of the Good News, the light of the world and the salt of the earth - they state.
In the Archdiocese of Split-Makarska, Pope Francis will be mentioned in all Holy Masses in the prayers of the faithful, especially on the next Sunday of Divine Mercy, as well as in the personal prayers of priests and faithful.
- In communion with all Catholics around the world, we ask the Risen Christ to turn his merciful gaze upon Jorge Mario Bergoglio - Pope Francis and choose him into the communion of the heavenly Church - conclude the Archdiocese of Split-Makarska.
