Who has the best prosciutto this year will be revealed on April 25th in Šibenik, the host city of the 11th Croatian Prosciutto Days. This event, traditionally organized by the Croatian Prosciutto Cluster, has been celebrating the rich tradition and top quality of Croatian prosciutto for more than a decade, bringing together producers, experts and lovers of this prized delicacy.
The emphasis is exclusively on protected prosciuttos, and Croatia has four of them – Krk, Drniš and Dalmatia, which are holders of the EU Protected Designation of Geographical Origin, and Istrian, which is the holder of the EU Protected Designation of Origin.
On Friday, April 25th, the event is intended exclusively for experts and producers, and on Saturday, April 26th, it moves to Pavle Šubić Square, where citizens and tourists will be able to taste and buy the best Croatian prosciutto at promotional prices.
"This event is extremely important for strengthening the Croatian prosciutto brand on the domestic and international market. Despite challenges such as the pandemic, inflation and African swine fever, Croatian prosciutto producers have managed to maintain the continuity of production, which confirms their dedication and expertise. We invite all lovers of top gastronomy, experts and producers to join us in Šibenik on April 25th at D-Resort, and citizens to visit us at Pavle Šubić Square on April 26th," says Ante Madir, executive director of the Croatian Prosciutto Cluster.
