Split Deputy Mayor Bojan Ivošević said on Tuesday that during the current government of the city's Center party, around 1.000 personnel went through the public tender system, but that there was no political favoritism or party favoritism.
"In the City of Split, city institutions and city companies, around 1.000 people were given the opportunity to work through the public tender system," Ivošević said at a press conference, claiming that the former city authorities did not act in this way, but instead employed party-friendly candidates.
He called out HDZ mayoral candidate Tomislav Šuta, HGS candidate Željko Kerum, and SDP candidate Davor Matijević for engaging in political infiltration.
"Šuta does not agree with the management of the current government in Split and 'offers better' to his fellow citizens, but wherever he did something, he was politically active and everything was made possible by the party (HDZ), and he walks around the city lost," he said.
Željko Kerum, who, says Ivošević, to my amazement, walks freely through the streets of Croatia for the simple reason that he admitted in a show that employment in city companies, institutions and the city administration, during his coalition with Andro Krstulović Opara (former mayor) and the HDZ, and with Blaženko Boban at the county level, is nothing more than a means of trade where party cadres are employed so that someone can raise their hand for the budget.
In this context, he also called out the Chief State Attorney Ivan Turudić.
"HDZ and Kerum's team in the county are doing the piggery, they break the law in order to employ people in the county, they abuse their position and bring party people to the county, they satisfy the needs of the coalition, and DORH and Turudić are silent on all this, keep their heads down and pretend that nothing is happening in the county," Ivošević asserted.
He said about Davor Matijević that during the time of former SDP mayor Ivo Baldasar, he was employed without a competitive examination at the company "Stanouprava".
"In the SDP City Committee, Matijević is surrounded by people who are illegally employed in the Public Institution Park Šuma Marjan, and they owe that employment to Željko Kerum," said Ivošević.
Answering questions, he said that out of 1.000 personnel who passed the public competition system during the current government in Split, there were only three to four cases that could be problematic.
