
The Digital Dalmatia County Technology Hub, a center of innovation and technological development in Split, hosted the Era of Measures conference, dedicated to presenting active employment policy measures for 2025. The event brought together more than a hundred participants - from representatives of state institutions to entrepreneurs and beneficiaries of measures - with the aim of exchanging experiences and presenting successful examples of using support for employment and self-employment, writes Digital Dalmatia.
Prefect of Split-Dalmatia County Blaženko Boban In his speech, he referred to the specificities of the region:
"Split-Dalmatia County, due to its size and diversity, has different needs compared to the rest of Croatia. I am pleased that active employment policy measures are specifically responding to them. As many as 640 self-employment contracts were signed last year, which shows that the measures are producing real results."
In his address to the gathering, the prefect highlighted the choice of venue for the conference:
"This conference is being held right here for a reason - in the Digital Dalmatia technology hub, in the heart of Split, right below the university campus. This is a place that brings together the technology community, cares about the growth and development of startups, and represents a true picture of the direction we want to go as a region - towards a digital, sustainable and smart future. Socially sensitive projects such as e-Umirovlenik, which has collected more than 500 applications, are also being developed in this space. This shows how ready our people are to get involved, learn and contribute, regardless of age."
Director of the Croatian Employment Service Ante Lončar expressed pride in the results achieved at the national level:
"The labor market in Croatia is stable. Today we have the highest employment rate - 74%, the lowest unemployment rate - below 5%, a record 1.709.185 insured people and never fewer unemployed people. All of this is accompanied by an increase in the average, median and minimum wage."
He also emphasized the importance of continuous investment in human resource development:
"In the last eight years, more than 314 thousand people have used active employment policy measures, and 1,39 billion euros have been invested. In the Split-Dalmatia County alone, 132,4 million euros have been invested in employment incentives for more than 31 thousand people. Our goal is for the CES to become a central place for human resources development in Croatia."
The advisor to the Minister of Labor, Pension System, Family and Social Policy discussed employment subsidies and their implementation. Vjekoslav Spoljaric and Deputy Prefect of Split-Dalmatia County Ante Sosic who highlighted the importance of measures at the county level.
The head of Digital Dalmatia also gave special importance to the venue. Damir Brcic who emphasized the importance of synergy between the public sector and entrepreneurship:
"Digital Dalmatia is not just a space, but a central place for innovation, learning and developing digital skills, strengthening our technological community. We are glad that a conference like this recognizes the importance of connecting public policies with the real needs of the market and entrepreneurs."
