The "ERA MJERA" conference was held in Split today, dedicated to the presentation of active employment policy measures for 2025. The conference brought together representatives of the Ministry of Labor, Pension System, Family and Social Policy, the Croatian Employment Service, as well as numerous entrepreneurs and experts who had the opportunity to share their experiences and successes resulting from the use of employment and self-employment support.
Those gathered were greeted by Blaženko Boban, Prefect of Split-Dalmatia County, and Ante Lončar, Director of the Croatian Employment Service, and a presentation of active employment policy measures for 2025 was held by Vjekoslav Špoljarić, Advisor to the Minister of Labor, Pension System, Family and Social Policy.
County Prefect Blaženko Boban pointed out that different regions in Croatia have different needs and expressed satisfaction with the way in which active employment policy measures are responding to the needs of the Split-Dalmatia County. He praised the response to measures for the employment of retirees, the creation of a center of excellence for the retraining of unemployed people for hospitality professions, which is a response to the problem of the shortage of labor in tourism, as well as the fact that as many as 640 self-employment contracts were signed last year. Due to its specific nature and size, the Split-Dalmatia County also has a problem with healthcare, which is why it is investing in expanding the capacity of the Split Health School in order to increase the number of nurses and medical technicians in the coming period.
At the conference "Era of Measures" held in Split, the Director of the Croatian Employment Service, Mr. Ante Lončar, expressed his satisfaction with the fact that in a short period of time we have gone from a country with huge unemployment to a country that imports labor. "The labor market in Croatia is stable. Today we have the highest employment rate, as much as 74%, the lowest unemployment rate, below 5%, the highest number of insured persons, 1.709.185 of them, and an ever-increasing number of unemployed, and all this is accompanied by wage growth - average, median and minimum wages." Director Lončar says that he is extremely optimistic about the further implementation of active employment policy measures due to the excellent results achieved so far. "So far, in the last 8 years, 314.560 people have used active employment policy measures, for which 1.390.000.000,00 euros have been spent. In the Split-Dalmatia County alone, 132.400.000,00 euros have been invested in employment incentives for 31.654 people." - he added. "We are working to make the CES a central place for the development of human resources in Croatia, and we are particularly sensitive to people in a disadvantaged position. We are truly guided by the principles of solidarity and care for the weakest because everyone deserves their place in society." - said Mr. Ante Lončar, Director of the Croatian Employment Service, at the conference "Era of Measures".
All speakers agreed that networking is key to spreading the word and good practices of active employment policy measures and thanked all participants, over a hundred of them, for their attendance and interest in implementing and using the measures. Employment subsidies as an incentive for entrepreneurs
Employment support was discussed with entrepreneurs by Vjekoslav Špoljarić, advisor to the Minister of Labor, Pension System, Family and Social Policy, who presented the measures, and Ante Šošić, deputy prefect of Split-Dalmatia County.
In the panel "Becoming and Staying an Entrepreneur", entrepreneurs Daša Salvezani and Lovre Šabić shared their experiences, who first successfully used support for self-employment, and now employ themselves and successfully use other supports.
