The organizers of Marko Perković Thompson's concert at the Zagreb Hippodrome announced on Tuesday that the capacity for concertgoers will be increased, and ticket sales will resume on Thursday from 12 noon, while all conditions and prices remain the same.
"We are very pleased to inform you that the capacity for visitors to Thompson's concert at the Zagreb Hippodrome is increasing," the organizers reported on Facebook. Ticket sales will resume on Thursday, April 3, from 12 noon via the Entrio system and their points of sale.
"Tickets for the ground floor are still 30 euros and all conditions and prices remain unchanged, just like at the start of sales, which means that everyone interested has an equal opportunity to secure their ticket," they stated.
In an earlier statement, they urged interested fans and visitors not to buy tickets from resellers or through advertisements. "According to our knowledge, there are many counterfeit tickets in circulation that will not be valid at the door," they said on Tuesday.
For Thompson's concert, which will take place on Saturday, July 5, at the Zagreb Hippodrome, according to data from the ticket sales platform Entrio, over 280.000 tickets were sold in less than 24 hours, which is a world record.
Interior Minister Davor Božinović confirmed on Tuesday that "there is contact" with Thompson's team, after the weekly Nacional announced that a special security headquarters was being formed for the concert.
He added that it is a concert where a large number of people are expected, and police officers are the most experienced in organizing large public events.
The minister explained that the police hold similar meetings before football matches, where 20.000 to 30.000 people gather.
"It looks like we're already dealing with 10 times more people here, and that probably means that many more meetings and agreements," said Božinović, adding that, given the expected number of visitors, emergency services and the City of Zagreb services must also be involved in the organization.
Due to the large number of visitors, demand for accommodation in Zagreb increased that weekend. Hotel and apartment prices increased manifold, and there was almost no available accommodation near the Hippodrome.
