The prosecutor's office, without specifying identities, announced that Ivana Ninčević Lesandrić's husband suspects that he incited the Omiš clerk to abuse his position and authority and forge an official or business document.
Pivčević is accused of having agreed to Lesandrić's request to allow him to provide hospitality services in a household in an illegally constructed facility in Katuni, as an independent administrative officer for economy and tourism at the Omiš branch of the State Administration Office in Split-Dalmatia County, from September 3 to October 3, 2019.
He knew that no valid building permit had been issued for that building, that it did not have a use permit, and that it did not meet the requirements for legalization.
USKOK states that on September 27, 2019, the officer drew up a report on the inspection in which he falsely stated that the facility met the minimum technical requirements for a three-star categorization. He also falsely stated that another colleague of his attended the inspection as a member of the committee for determining the requirements and certified the report with his signature, as well as the signature of another employee.
Then, the prosecutor's office suspects, he filed the untruthfully prepared record in the file and based on it, on October 3, 2019, he issued a temporary decision approving the provision of catering services for accommodation in the household.
In the explanation of the decision, the officer falsely wrote that in addition to the request for issuing a temporary decision for accommodation in the household, he also attached a request for the legalization of an illegally built building.
No such request was submitted, but Lesandrić only submitted a request for a building permit, which was never issued, USKOK points out.
After the arrest and the initiation of an investigation, Pivčević was remanded in custody, while Lesandrić was released to defend himself during the investigation.
Ninčević Lesandrić, who ran for county prefect in the last local elections on behalf of a group of opposition parties, lost the election to HDZ's Blaženko Boban.
