
The City Council of the City of Split has decided to establish the Economic Council as a new working body, which will have 15 members from the ranks of city councilors and representatives of the Croatian Employers' Association, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Craftsmen, the City Administration and the RaST Development Agency.
The task of the Economic Council will be to analyze local economic indicators and propose measures to improve them, promote dialogue between entrepreneurs, investors and the City Administration, and identify obstacles to business and propose solutions. The Council will propose measures to stimulate small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), including de minimis support, as well as activities to attract domestic and foreign investments.
They will also participate in public debates and the drafting of local acts that affect the economy, provide opinions on the part of the city budget related to the economy and entrepreneurship, and monitor the effects of decisions made on the local economy.
In addition to the above, the Economic Council will participate in the development and/or evaluation of strategic documents, propose development projects, prepare reports and recommendations to the Mayor and the City Council, and, in cooperation with the Social Council, participate in the development of economic and social issues.
