A retro evening of dancing to the rhythm of Split's Clique dance club took us back to the good old days. Back then, people watched Footloose, Briljantin, Dirty Dancing, Abba, Madonna, Michael Jackson, and everyone hoped to remember at least one step to show off at the disco.
The well-coordinated, energetic, and impressive Clique performed last night at the Kaštela Cultural Center in Lukšić and performed their dance-stage spectacle, created based on the idea of choreographer Vedrana.
The Clique dance club prefers more modern dance styles such as hip hop, house, locking, waacking, street funk and club dances.
Greece and Footloose, Cabaret, disco
As Vedrana said - this retro dance show was created on the idea of creating a show that would be interesting to all generations, that would bring the elderly back to their youth, that would be interesting to the young, and at the same time understandable to foreigners.
The show is divided into four thematic parts: Greece and Footloose, Cabaret, the disco era and an attractive light show with light props. We looked for the costumes on the internet and adapted them a bit, as well as the light props that we use in the last part.
- We are satisfied with the performance, as are the dancers who participated: Vanja, Ena, Franka, Lana and Marko, and the two of them, Vedrana and Kaja. They are also studio managers and run the entire club where they work with different age groups - said Kaja.
We have a lot of children in the club, from kindergarten age 3 to adults, dance recreation where there are members up to 66 years old. They are mostly girls, there are always a shortage of boys, but luckily we have Vanja and Marko who are part of our team.
Kaja added - we are all in shock at what a treasure you have here, this is incredible in terms of space, lighting and technology, we have been performing this retro dance show for several years now, and this is the most beautiful place we have ever performed.
The Clique dance club is currently preparing a new show for next season and will be happy to accept the invitation and perform in Kaštela again.
