
The 3rd session of the City Council of the City of Kaštela was held in the City Hall on Wednesday, September 24th, chaired by the President of the Council, Mario Škopljanac (HDZ), with the support of the Deputy Presidents, Martina Kuzmanić (HDZ) and Goran Samardžić (NLJB).
All 25 items on the agenda were adopted at the session. Among the most important decisions are the II. Amendments to the Budget of the City of Kaštela for 2025. Total revenues and receipts were reduced by 1,39 million euros and now amount to 42,68 million euros, while expenditures were reduced by 1,35 million euros and amount to 47,93 million euros. After the final calculation of 2024, a consolidated surplus of 5,24 million euros was determined, which will be directed to the implementation of city projects and programs.
The councilors also adopted the Semi-Annual Report on the Execution of the Budget for the Period January–June 2025, as well as amendments to the public needs program in preschool education, sports, culture, social welfare and health care. Decisions were made to abolish the status of public property on certain real estate in Kaštel Novi and Kaštel Gomilica and to declare the cemetery and parking lot next to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Cold in Kaštel Sućurac as public property owned by the City of Kaštel.
Of particular note is the decision on the organization and scope of work of administrative bodies, which establishes a new Administrative Department for Municipal Economy, into which part of the activities of the existing Administrative Departments will be reallocated. This will, as we wrote on PortalThe City of Kaštela will have eight administrative departments in the future, with the goal of increasing efficiency and transparency in the work of the city administration.
The session also adopted a Decision on the appointment of the director of the Public Institution Sports Facilities Kaštela, adopted amendments to the Maritime Domain Management Plan for the period 2024–2028, as well as changes in the composition of the Council for the Protection of Consumers of Public Services and the Commission for Intercity and International Cooperation.
The councilors also accepted the Annual Report on the status of the utility company Zeleno i modro doo for 2024, which we wrote about on Portal, which highlighted further improvement of waste management services and work on strengthening recycling infrastructure.
Voting on the 25 items lasted about an hour and a half, but everything was preceded by the actual hour, which we wrote about on Portal, in which the councilors touched on what they considered to be the most important issues.
