Current hour of the 3rd session of the City Council of the City of Kaštela
At yesterday's 3rd session of the City Council The Kaštela councillors, who had 25 agenda items, also had time for council questions and mostly touched on infrastructure, traffic, agglomeration and the like. Seven of them took the floor, namely: Ivana Perisin (SDP), Goran Samardzic (NL JB), Milija Baldic Luksic (BRIDGE), Mary Bedalov Smoje (HP) Mili Novak (HDZ), Bosko Dzolic (HDZ) and Branimir Matijaca (HDZ).
Ivana Perisin she asked to be informed about the meeting of the City with the representatives Croatian Railways, considering that the mayor announced this meeting at the last Council meeting.
- Yes, the meeting was in July, but the topic was something else that I didn't even know would be there. HŽ Infrastructure is preparing an analysis for the entire Croatia for the construction of a railway for international traffic. So, it wasn't the topic of our local, let's call it the metro. What I suggested to them was to do an analysis, because their goal is to have two tracks, two rails and for this whole story for the whole of Croatia to be built by 2040. The analysis will show its results, but I think you will all agree with me that we don't really have any space for another track, another rail, but let's let them finish the analysis - said Ivanović and referred to the metro.
- As for the metro itself, I think we gave Croatian Railways permission for a certain variant, which was over D8. However, they have not responded back, but we can update the topic a bit, so we can see where we are - he said.

Rudine should be included in the long-term urban development plans, work on the B package in October
Perišin requested that the scooter driving regulation, especially during the tourist season, and she also advocated for residents of Rudin stating that this settlement should be included in long-term urban development plans, considering the growth of the population. She was interested in, among other things, when package B of the agglomeration in that area will start, and when the substation, post office, or ATM, optical Internet will be built, and that traffic connections will be improved.
About the works on B package agglomeration he spoke and Bosko Dzolic who specifically mentioned the area of Kaštel Novi, namely the part that includes Bufaline, Put Žabic and Put Griže streets.
According to the mayor, a railway stop is planned in Rudine, and work on Package B of the agglomeration should begin in October. Other topics are not under the City's jurisdiction, and inquiries will be sent to the relevant institutions.

Ivanovic on the extension of D8: When the HC analysis is finished, it will be known whether a third lane is needed
While the councilor Mary Bedalov Smoje requested to be informed about the initiated public procurement for expansion of the D8 road published by Croatian Roads, and which uploaded by PortalAs she said, they want to expand the D8 road to six lanes after they started building a tunnel that will connect to that road, where they only later concluded that there would be traffic congestion.
- If I read it correctly, I guess we were reading the same article, Croatian Roads has ordered a public procurement for the preparation of a cost-effectiveness analysis. When the analysis is finished, then it will be known whether the third lane makes sense or not. I think there is no need to create panic until we get the results of the analysis. I doubt that the analysis would show that houses along the D8 should be demolished – said Mayor Ivanović.
In addition, let's add that the councilor Mili Novak touched crowded public transport lines 37 and 38 and that line number 2, which runs through Kaštela, is missing. He was interested in whether the City had reacted and talked to the authorities about increasing the number of lines, at least during peak hours in the morning and afternoon, which we wrote about, and you can read about HERE.
Citizens pay four fees in addition to water consumption, which is 42 percent of the bill.

Goran Samardzic looked back at water bills and requested that the fees and services we pay for water consumption be examined. As he said, the total fees on the bill amount to approximately 42 percent of what citizens pay. He also touched on sidewalk which are too narrow for strollers in certain places, and also have no curbs. As the head of public utilities said Ivica Škopljanac Sidewalks are being widened wherever opportunities allow and where they have cooperation with citizens, and that curbs have been installed on several sidewalks so far, and that this work will also be done towards the west of Kaštela.
Lučić: There is no point in discussing raising the price of garbage collection until the public consultation has passed
Samardžić also touched on the announced increase in the price of garbage that the media wrote about, and asked the director of the Zeleno i modro company to clarify whether this is a case of poor business performance by the company, as some media outlets have written, or whether something else is at stake.
- Energy prices are rising, which I understand, but the sudden increase in the price of garbage collection is something I do not agree with, it should be gradual. I know that the losses are large, but our Councilors' Club has been emphasizing for a long time that we need to increase parking prices. In Kaštela, we need to mark parking spaces because this is the main income for utility companies, so it would be good if this was coordinated a little better. As for the increase in the price of garbage, I understand that, but the fines that have been proposed are illogical. These fines do not hold water for me - he said Samardzic.
Director of the company Zeleno i modro Alen Lucic price increase inquiry, but also the penalties that are being introduced, he did not comment until the public consultation had passed and invited all those who have questions or criticisms to do so through the consultation.
- As for the price increase, as you say due to poor business, I would say that is not true. Our operations are excellent, our city is among the cleanest in the County. It is best for all citizens to submit their suggestions and criticisms at the public consultation because there is no point in discussing something that is not yet in use. Contractual penalties have existed for a long time and are prescribed by law. This is standard practice in all cities in Croatia – he said briefly Lucic.
Will the mariculture zone in the Kaštela Bay be abolished?

City Hall Milija Baldic Luksic, with a question about the number of children not enrolled in Kaštela kindergartens, about what did we write about, was interested, given that the Spatial Plan of the Split-Dalmatia County planned two mariculture zones with a total area of 730 hectares, at a distance of more than 300 meters from the coast, i.e. in the Kaštela bays, has the City made any comments. In response to this question, the mayor said that he could provide her with the letter they sent to the County, where they expressed an objection that it should be removed from the County's spatial plan.
The maritime culture project was also touched upon by the councilor Branimir Matijaca saying that he already knows that the City has advocated for the exclusion of the project from the Spatial Plan, because it is a project whose spatial scope is unimaginable, and it would destroy all the pain and effort invested in the revitalization of the Kaštela Bay and the planning of the area by the sea.
In addition, Matijaca reiterated that the City, the City Council, and the public must stand up for the northern area of Kozjak where construction is planned. solar plant, because as he said, we have a great generational responsibility over this space and over everything that is happening, and that this project needs to be stopped.
