This weekend, police officers will conduct intensive traffic control on the roads of Split-Dalmatia County.
Gross violations of speed limit regulations while driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to use safety features such as seat belts on all seats and protective helmets on motorcycles, and distractions in road traffic (distraction from the traffic situation, e.g., use of a mobile phone by a driver or pedestrian) result in the most serious road traffic injuries.
The police urge all road users to be cautious and respect traffic regulations, so as not to endanger their own lives or the lives of other road users through their irresponsible behavior. They especially appeal to drivers not to further endanger the most at-risk groups in road traffic - moped and motorcycle drivers, pedestrians and cyclists.
