
The Mayor of the City of Kaštela, Denis Ivanović, has announced a public call for applications for assistance to cover part of the costs of freely agreed rent - housing costs for young families in the Kaštela area in 2025.
Funds for the allocation of assistance are provided in the Budget of the City of Kaštela for 2025 in the amount of 43.900,00 euros.
Assistance will be allocated per beneficiary as follows:
a) 300,00 euros per month for a young family with children; planned number of beneficiaries – 16
b) 200,00 euros per month for a young family without children; planned number of assistance – 12
Eligible period for granting aid to cover part of the costs of freely contracted
rent - housing costs is from July 01, 2025 to December 31, 2025. The highest amount that can be approved to an individual beneficiary for a period of 6 months (in the period from July 01 to December 31, 2025) is EUR 1.800,00 for a young family with children, or EUR 1.200,00 for a young family without children.
Eligible costs include the costs of freely negotiated rent - housing costs for young families residing in the Kaštela area for at least one year prior to submitting the application. Assistance is granted to beneficiaries who have freely negotiated rents with landlords who are natural persons and who prove the existence of a tenancy relationship in a residential building located in the Kaštela area by means of a contract certified by the competent authority and reported to the Ministry of Finance or the Tax Administration.
The lease agreement must be concluded for at least the period from June 01 to December 31, 2025.
What is considered a young family?
To a young family The applicant, his/her spouse or common-law partner and children, if any, are considered eligible, provided that the applicant is not older than 40 years of age at the time of application and meets the following conditions:
- both spouses/common-law partners are citizens of the Republic of Croatia;
- spouses/common-law partners are not beneficiaries of identical support (double funding);
- spouses/common-law partners do not own/co-own an apartment, house or other real estate;
- none of the spouses/common-law partners have been issued a family legal protection measure;
- have no debts to the Budget of the City of Kaštela.
To a young family A single-parent family consisting of a child or children and one parent or a single parent who is not older than 40 years of age at the time of application and meets the following conditions is also considered:
- the parent is a citizen of the Republic of Croatia;
- the parent is not a beneficiary of identical support (double funding);
- the parent does not own/co-own an apartment, house or other real estate;
- the parent has not been issued a family legal protection measure;
- there are no debts to the Budget of the City of Kaštela.
Criteria for granting aid
Conditions:
- the applicant (or parent in a single-parent family) is under 40 years of age,
- residence in Kaštela for at least one year,
- a valid lease agreement certified by a notary public and reported to the Tax Administration,
- does not own real estate, have debts to the City, or have family legal protection measures.
The basic criteria for granting assistance is the total income per household member. Priority according to this criterion is given to young families with a lower average income per household member. In the event that several applicants have the same average income per household member, priority will be given to the applicant whose application was received earlier.

The application is submitted on the TSMO Form, which can be downloaded exclusively on the official website of the City of Kaštela: www.kastela.hr, with accompanying documentation proving the justification for granting financial assistance to young families. Documentation with mandatory attachments is submitted electronically to the address
