SUNBEDS AND UMBRELLAS MUST BE STORE IN ONE PLACE UNTIL USE
Kaštela beaches are full of swimmers enjoying summer fun, swimming, sea and sun. Especially those with facilities, so in addition to refreshing themselves in the sea, they also enjoy jet skiing, pedal boats, parasailing, inflatables and sun loungers under umbrellas. However, for some of them, the additional facilities on the beach gave them a headache, namely because of the sun loungers, there was no room for towels.
As a reader informed us, who also sent us pictures, on Gabine Beach in Štafilić, there were sun loungers lined up next to each other that had not been rented, and there was no room for her towel. According to her, the person who worked on renting the sun loungers did not allow her to move them to place her towel, which angered her and she contacted the municipal guards of the City of Kaštela, as well as our editorial office.
To check who has what rights on a public beach, we contacted the City. As they told us, on the beach that the reader complained about in Gabine, 30 deck chairs can be placed, but according to the law, they must be stacked on top of each other and when renting, the user places them in the place they want, but it must be two meters away from the sea.
Let us recall that in March last year, the City of Kaštela announced a tender for the award of concessions for the rental of recreational and sports equipment at certain locations. According to the plan published in the Official Gazette, in addition to other recreational equipment, concessions for deck chairs were also awarded in the city area at 16 locations from Gomilica to Štafilići.
As stated in the decision on the order on the maritime property, deckchairs must be 2 to 4 meters away from the sea.
The sun loungers of one permit holder must be at least 10 meters away from the sun loungers of another permit holder.
Sun loungers, parasols and other equipment must not interfere with the use of the beach as a public good, but must be placed in one place (an assigned location) and can only be placed in a designated place on the beach at the request of the user.
As we have learned, the sunbed concessionaire who did not comply with the legal provisions has been warned and will face a fine.
