The Škatula Theatre was a guest in Nin yesterday, where they performed the puppet show "The Adventures of the Crab Slanka" in the beautiful setting of the Nin saltworks. The show is based on the picture book by Sanja Stamenić Oštrić, for which the dramatization, set design and direction are signed by our famous actor Ernest Srećko Berec.
In collaboration with the Škatula Theatre and KU StudioArt in the program of the 12th Salt Festival, young Škatula actors Loran Kranjac and Šime Britvić stood side by side with actor Berec and presented the tradition of salt harvesting to the youngest audience through puppetry and introduced them to the plant and animal world of the Nin Bay lagoon.
The Nin Saltworks cultivates the traditional production of organic sea salt, which has nurtured many generations for centuries.
- It is a wonderful experience to come among the salt fields in the royal city of Nin. Our participants were given the opportunity to present themselves with a puppet performance, which is a real challenge even for adult actors. I would like to thank Mr. Berec and the Nin saltworks for this cooperation. - said Ljiljana Garbati, director of the Škatula Theatre.
