On July 28 at 01:30 a.m., police officers from the Split Traffic Police Station stopped a car driven by a 35-year-old driver in the area of Kaštel Stari, on Dr. Franje Tuđmana Road.
Checks conducted through the Ministry of Interior's information system determined that the aforementioned person was driving a vehicle despite the protective measure of a ban on driving category B motor vehicles, imposed based on a decision of the Split Traffic Police Station, with the duration of the measure from March 13, 2025 to March 8, 2026. A breathalyzer test was performed, which determined that the driver had an alcohol concentration of 1,38 g/kg in his body.
In the indictment, the police requested detention in prison due to the possibility of repeated offenses, a fine of 4.600 euros and a ban on driving category B vehicles for 24 months. On the same day, July 28, 2025, at 13:00 p.m., he was brought before the Municipal Misdemeanor Court in Split, Permanent Service in Kaštel Sućurac.
After the hearing, the court decided to keep him in prison for 15 days, after which he was handed over to serve the imposed measure. The court will decide on the punishment later.
