The Brotherhood of Our Lady of Mount Carmel once again treated the locals to the aromas of grilled fish, a drop of Štafilić wine, and the musical notes of Marin Terzija and the Gabine klapa, on the eve of the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The festival is traditionally held at Igrišće in Kaštel Štafilić.
As in previous years, in the spirit of faith and community, all food and drink were free for visitors. The entire lower town gathered, even a few 'furešti' (locals) dropped by, and people celebrated under the stars with musical accompaniment. Marina TerzijeAs he told us, there is no prepared program, they sing from the soul and love, the only opening line is always the hymn to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, which he wrote. And, Terzija wrote many other songs during his rich 65-year career.
With a smile on his face, he energetically talks about how they are arriving as guests on stage. clap Gabine and other dear friends from "Glas Kaštela" which, along with "Zvuke Kaštela", was an unforgettable event for him. He says that these were long-lasting and wonderful events that put Kaštela on the music map of Croatia, gave birth to many stars, and he believes that it would be nice and useful for the people of Kaštela and new musicians if something similar were to be organized again - although it is unlikely that we will listen to songs in the Palace Hotel like in those days.
They sang with Gabina's klapa Ivana Siriščević i Jere Marovic, with a special program in honor of the holiday that the people of Štafilić traditionally cherish. All those present confirmed that they had not eaten better sardines in a long time, and the Štafilić homemade wine does not need much praise because it is a top-notch drop from local winemakers. There is no room for risotto, however, due to the fasting that awaits the holiday. However, there are those who have skillfully avoided it.
One of the members Confraternity of Our Lady of Mount Carmel He told us that on one occasion a local man took a piece of meat, found the first bench in Kaštel Stari and thus 'skipped the fast'. The brotherhood at the festival could not even count the number of grilled sardines, so we will just say that the smell of delicious grilled sardines spread until late in the evening, and the line was endless. People ate and drank, socialized and feasted, many on their feet because all the seats were already full at the beginning. People also danced on their feet with Terzia and friends, thus immortalizing another great festival of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
