THIS YEAR'S EVENT PROGRAM PRESENTED
In the next two months, more than ninety different cultural and entertainment events will be organized in Kaštela as part of this year's Kaštela Cultural Summer, which will be extremely rich this year, announced Deputy Mayor Antonio Budimir today during the presentation of the program at Vitturi Castle in Kaštel Lukšić. The presentation was attended by the director of the Kaštela Tourist Board Nada Maršić and the head of the Department for Social Activities and Joint Affairs Antonia Kljaić.
The Kaštela Cultural Summer program is getting richer and more diverse every year, and this year it will offer numerous events, concerts, klapa and folklore performances, and plays for children and adults.
- I am pleased to announce the start of the Kaštela Cultural and Entertainment Summer, a significant event that includes more than 90 different events that are free of charge. The events will be held from the end of June to the beginning of September. The opening of the Kaštela Cultural and Entertainment Summer will be at the Brca in Kaštel Kambelovac on July 5th, while the closing will be on September 6th at the Igrišće in Kaštel Štafilić. I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to such a significant event being held in the city of Kaštela for many years, and I invite all our fellow citizens, as well as our guests, to contribute to another beautiful summer in Kaštela by attending the numerous events – said Deputy Mayor Budimir.
- The Kaštela Cultural Summer is one of the largest events that, with its program and content, promotes not only the development of culture, but also our rich cultural and historical heritage. The City of Kaštela, in cooperation with the Kaštela Tourist Board, our Kaštela associations and cultural institutions, namely the Kaštela City Museum and the Kaštela City Library, is organizing more than 90 events at various locations in our city this year. As an introduction to the opening of the Kaštela Cultural and Entertainment Summer, the 16th Days of Tradition "Nostalgia" event begins tomorrow. Every year in Kaštela, we cherish tradition and support our local performers, because we believe that the Kaštela Cultural and Entertainment Summer is not just a series of events, but also a space for connecting our fellow citizens and guests. This year, the program will include our traditional events, such as the Kaštela Glendi and Batudi Evenings, Šalša and Salsa, Kaštela Majorette Evenings, Traditional Folklore Evenings and other activities. Of course, there will also be classical music, concerts for fans of popular music, folk festivals, but also unforgettable performances that will be performed not only by Kaštel's theaters, but also by visiting theaters. The closing ceremony of the Kaštel cultural summer is scheduled for September 6, at Igrišće at 8:30 p.m., and Amira Medunjanin will be in charge of the entertainment - emphasized the head of the Department for Social Activities and Common Affairs Antonia Kljaić, and once again noted that all entrances to the activities are completely free for Kaštel residents and guests and that they are fully financed from the budget of the City of Kaštel.
The grand opening of the Kaštela Cultural and Entertainment Summer is scheduled for July 5th, starting at 21 p.m. on the beach in Kaštel Kambelovac, and entertainment will be provided by Hari Rončević from Kaštela. From July 10th to 12th, Kaštela will become the city of love thanks to the Lovestock festival. It will consist of three concert evenings, as well as morning workshops for children.
This year, for the first time in more than 25 years, the traditional evening of Dalmatian letters is changing its location; from the field next to the church of St. Michael in Kaštel Kambelovac, it is moving to Kaštel Sučurac, to the courtyard. The first evening is reserved for a concert by Jasna Zlokić, on July 19, and July 20 will be a competition evening. As before, the city of Kaštela will organize, in memory of the Day of Victory, Homeland Gratitude and Croatian Defenders on August 3, in cooperation with Hvidra Kaštela, a special program at the port in Kaštel Stari.
The director of the Kaštela Tourist Board, Nada Maršić, announced the 16th Days of Tradition "Nostalgia" event, which begins tomorrow, on the Brčko and Riva promenade in Kaštel Novi.
- From June 26th to 30th, the traditional Eco-Ethno Fair will be held with the largest number of exhibitors so far, as many as 30. The first evening is the Evening of Fashion Designers of Traditional and Modern Costumes, and the special feature of the evening will be that the collection of designer Šime Kovačević will be worn by his journalist colleagues. For the first time, three craft schools will participate, the Craft School from Split, which has been cooperating with us for years, and now the Craft Schools from Slavonski Brod and Nova Gradiška have also joined. The second evening will be dedicated to the parish in Novi, whose parishioner is celebrating a young mass on June 27th, and immediately after the mass there will be a large folk festival. The County Folklore Festival is planned for June 28th, and we are the hosts. The festival itself will be preceded by a parade in which rich costumes will be displayed. These events also coincide with the feast of St. Peter, which is especially celebrated in Novi, so on June 29 we are organizing an Evening of Spiritual Chansons, and on June 30 a Concert of Spiritual Music on the Brca in Kaštel Novi. The unique gastro evening ENO GASTRO will be held on June 28 at the port in Kaštel Stari, so I can announce a big buzz in Stari, Novi and Štafilić that day. Also, on June 28 in the morning hours, the Camino St. James begins with a gathering scheduled for 7.30 a.m. in front of the Church of St. George in Kaštel Sućurac. In Kaštel, we will have a lot of both secular and sacred events in those few days before the official part of the Kaštel cultural and entertainment summer begins - emphasized director Maršić.
Director Maršić also announced the guest appearance of the Varaždin Tambura Orchestra and the Sveti Juraj Klapa, which will be held in Kaštel Kambelovac on July 13. She especially highlighted the events related to the love story of Miljenko and Dobrila from August 2 to 10, when Kaštela becomes the city of love.
In the second half of August, in cooperation with the city of Kaštela, the Tourist Board is organizing the traditional event "Arias under the Stars", which has been very well attended for years, and will be held on the brca in Kaštel Stari, as well as Boje jezza, which will be held at Igrišće in Kaštel Štafilić.
