The heat is not only continuing, but it will be even more unpleasant on land in the coming days. The days will be mostly sunny, the nights a little warmer, and the daytime temperature will often exceed 35 degrees, most notably on Thursday, when a very unpleasant warm southwest wind will blow, it writes. Weather and Traffic.
A change late in the day and into the night on Friday could bring showers to the north, some rain to the east, and relief from the heat elsewhere on land with a northerly wind.
In the Adriatic, the nights will become warmer with the bora, the daytime temperature will not change significantly, but a series of hot days without a quality night's rest will intensify the impact of the heat wave.
Relief will initially be provided by the maestral wind and perhaps some rain clouds in the north on Friday night.
Refreshment is sought in the shade, the sea and rivers.
Refreshment is sought in the shade, sea and rivers these days. The peak of the heat wave, which can affect human health, will be on Thursday, when the highest level of warning has been issued for the regions of Osijek, Zagreb and Karlovac.
And besides being hot and sunny, it's mostly dry. There are places in the east and south that are still waiting for the first June rain - if they even get it. Because the rain fronts are far to the north, they will descend further south on Friday night, bringing storms to our neighbors, and probably only "grazing" us and reducing the heat.
A day for caution and shade: Croatia is hit by a new heat wave
Slavonians will wake up to early morning heat and a yellow heatwave warning. With almost no wind, they will experience a very hot midday sunny day when the temperature will exceed 35 degrees.
In sunny central areas, daytime temperatures will rise to 37. With an orange heat warning, especially those who are more sensitive should be careful.
In some places, moderate dry and very warm southwesterly winds will not bring relief, just like next night with a minimum temperature of around 20. In the west, mostly sunny and hot, even in the highlands where there is a small chance of showers. The sea is often calm, moderate southwesterly and westerly winds along the coast in the afternoon.
Lowest temperature from 18 to 23, lower in Lika, daytime between 30 and 33.
Still hot in clear Dalmatia, especially inland where the temperature will rise to 36. In the morning from 17 to 20, on the coast from 20 to 24. Wind weak, moderate westerly and southwesterly in the afternoon, northwesterly on the open sea.
In the far south, the daily increase in temperature in some coastal towns will be slowed down by a moderate maestral wind, but here too we should warn not only about the daytime heat but also about another warm night that will make a quality vacation more difficult.
The minimum temperature will be from 19 to 24.
Peak heat on Thursday
The peak of the heat this week on land will be on Thursday, mostly sunny, with increasingly frequent moderate southwesterly winds. Towards the end of the day and into the night on Friday, a front will pass further north, which may bring thunderstorms and strong winds to the north, and less pronouncedly to the east on Friday, and slightly cooler air elsewhere with a northerly wind.
The heat wave will continue at sea with mostly sunny and hot weather. Towards the end of Thursday, the northern part could be more unstable. The southwesterly wind will strengthen slightly and then turn into a moderate bora - the Fennoscandian wind, which will make the mornings even warmer.
The peak of the heat wave is ahead of us, which will noticeably weaken on land on Friday, with some rain in some places, and at sea it will extend into next week due to even warmer nights.
