As part of the Cross-Border Cooperation Program between the Republic of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the DVD "Sv. Ana" Lištani and the DVD "Kaštel Gomilica" carried out joint activities under the project "Training and training for minor disasters in the cross-border area".
The implementation of this project between the two fire departments has continued many years of cooperation, strengthened friendship, and increased readiness to operate in the border area adjacent to the Dinara Nature Park.
Due to all of the above, on Saturday, June 14, an education and demonstration exercise in outdoor firefighting was organized and conducted at the location in Kaštel Gomilica. All active firefighters from both DVDs participated in these exercises.
Prior to this exercise, a joint demonstration exercise was held in Lištane (BiH) at the end of May, entitled “Operation Security: Earthquake and Fire.” This exercise involved 17 emergency services that organizationally belong to the Civil Protection Directorate of the Herzeg-Bosnia County.
Over 150 people participated in the demonstration exercises that were organized and conducted in the area of Lištane (BIH) and Kaštel Gomilica.
"The exchange of mutual experiences, analysis of the training provided and exercises conducted resulted in an agreement to strengthen cooperation, repeating joint exercises to strengthen cooperation in protection and rescue systems in the border area in cases of large fires or other unwanted events."
By maintaining mutual relations and practicing joint procedures in this way, the safety of citizens is increased, the protection and rescue system is strengthened, and the interest of young people in humanitarian work at the local, national and cross-border levels is increased.
"We thank the Ministry of Regional Development and European Union Funds of the Republic of Croatia for recognizing our efforts and acknowledging our desire to participate in shaping the protection and rescue system," said the firefighters.
