
A COMPETITION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE MAIN PROJECT IS ONGOING
The construction of a new school in Kambelovac, which would be a branch school to the Gomilica elementary school, has already begun. announced, and the preparation of documentation is underway. The conceptual design is complete, and the tender for the development of the main project is underway, which was announced by The city of Kaštela and runs until June 16th.
According to the data from the conceptual design, the spaces Knez Trpimir Elementary School in Kaštel Gomilica, through reconstruction and upgrading, they have been sized for a maximum of 700 students distributed in a total of 25 classrooms, of which nine are classrooms for general education and 16 are subject classes.
However, since the school currently has around 824 students, the plan is to build a new regional school for a maximum of 224 students. In other words, the new school would have eight classrooms.

The new regional school in Kambelovac will have two floors with a total net area of 2.766 square meters, that is, the net area of the school is about 1.797 square meters, while the sports hall occupies an additional 969 square meters.
The main entrance to the school is planned to be from the school square, and is connected by a covered porch that connects the school building and the sports hall. A multi-purpose space with a dining room is located in the center of the ground floor, and communication with other parts of the school is possible from it. The northern part of the ground floor is occupied by the energy and technical block, which includes a kitchen and other service areas, while the southern part houses four classrooms and two offices.

Vertical communication between floors is solved by a staircase and an elevator, which are located next to the entrance area, and an additional staircase is planned in the central part of the ground floor. The first floor is functionally divided by communications located in the central part. The northern part of the first floor is planned to house a school library and a space for organization and coordination of work, while the southern part consists of four classrooms and two offices.
Vertical communication between the school and the sports hall is enabled by an internal staircase and elevator for students, as well as a covered porch for external users. In addition, a single-section school sports hall is planned for the anticipated number of students, along with associated service areas and locker rooms.
