Police officers from the Kaštela Police Station recently received a particularly emotional and unusual award for their work, a handwritten and drawn thank you note from a little girl, Alisa, who has become an older sister. They helped her mother arrive safely at the Split maternity hospital.
Namely, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at around 2:20 p.m., shift manager Ante Rajčić received a call from a concerned citizen Ivan, who was driving his wife in labor to the Split maternity hospital at that time. He requested police assistance so that they could reach their destination as safely and quickly as possible.
The Chief of the Kaštela Police Station immediately approved the escort, and police officer Ivan Spahić and police trainee Ana Jurić were sent to the field. Using light and sound signals, they ensured the unhindered passage of the vehicle with the pregnant woman all the way to the maternity hospital in Split.
Shortly after their intervention, a new member of the family, a baby girl named Amelie, was born. Her older sister Alisa, touched by the attention and help of the police, decided to express her gratitude in a way that moved the entire station.
In a beautiful thank you note, Alisa wrote:
- Dear police officers, thank you for escorting my mom to the Split maternity hospital, after which my mom gave birth to a little sister. I love you - she wrote.
The very next day, Alisa and her dad Ivan came to the Kaštela Police Station. She brought a handmade thank-you note and flowers for police trainee Ana Jurić, wanting to personally thank the officers who helped them.
– With a little help from our colleagues, another little princess was born. Alisa rewarded us with warm words and a beautiful drawing – the police said.
Little Alisa's thank-you note will be given a special place in the station premises, as a reminder of this beautiful and touching event.

Finally, the Kaštela Police Station says:
"Dear Alisa, we are giving you and your sister police teddy bears as a gift, so that they can accompany you in your games and childhood, but also remind you of your police friends. We congratulate the entire family on the new member, and we wish little Amelie a happy and joyful life."
