TODAY IS EXACTLY ONE YEAR AGO SINCE KREŠIMIROVA STREET WAS OFFICIALLY CLOSED
The 30-meter-long railway bridge in Kambelovac of the Croatian Railways, namely the company Cenoza they are reconstructing for a year.
The works are still not finished, although it was initially announced that they would last half a year, then in February of this year It was said that the work would be completed by the end of April. As things stand now, it won't be until the end of May, although the Cenoza company says that people will be able to pass under the bridge on May 12th.
- Reinforced concrete works have been carried out on the bridge deck. The formwork and supports must not be removed until the concrete has reached full compressive strength, which is expected to be immediately before the planned closure of the line. A closure of the line on May 10 and May 11, 2025, has been agreed with HŽ Infrastruktura, when the temporary steel structure will be dismantled and traffic will be restored on the new reinforced concrete bridge. From May 12, 2025, there will be free passage for vehicles under the bridge - says Vedran Devčić from the Cenoza company.
However, even after that, certain tasks remain that will be done until the end of May, and they concern the stream located next to the road that passes under the bridge, namely Krešimirova Street.
- By the end of May, we plan to install pipes for stream regulation under the bridge, and the City of Kaštela commissioned us to carry out the work. After the required pipes are installed, all that remains is the concrete works on the reconstruction of the canal under the bridge and asphalting – concludes Devčić.
Let us add that Krešimirova Street has been officially closed since April 24, 2024, thus preventing traffic on the only road in Kambelovac that connects Tuđmanova Street with the main road, that is, Ivan Pavla II Street.
