"How beautiful are the flowers and perfumes of flowers, gardens, vineyards, the whole of nature and the arias around us" is the title of this year's Čakavian Evenings, which were marked by a rich festive program with numerous guests in the premises of the Bijaći school in Kaštel Novi. This is an event that has been organized for more than three decades in honor of Marko Marulić, the father of Croatian literature.
- The Bijački team is powerful, everyone had their function and they contribute personally and with passion. It is work with heart and soul. That makes me happy as the team leader of this event that we have been holding for years in honor of Marko Marulić, who wrote his magnificent work Judith in Čakavica. That obliges us, especially us Dalmatians, to hold events in his honor. We have been on this path for more than three decades. We have also brought together other institutions from kindergartens to elementary and high schools, and I am especially glad that a number of my colleagues support me. We are trying to preserve our Čakavica, which, unfortunately, is not in a favorable position, because it is dying out every day. But all the efforts we make are to slow down this procedure and process at least a little. We are helped in this by numerous celebrities from the entertainment industry, writers, actors and singers, and certainly our founder, the Split-Dalmatia County, the Ministry of Science and Education, the Education Agency and certainly our City of Kaštela - said the principal of the Bijaći school, Jadranka Šošić, adding that she believes that the wave of good vibrations will continue for a long time to come.
This year's event was held in the school's large sports hall, where a festive program was held on a specially prepared stage for the occasion. Among the numerous invited representatives of organizations, institutions and institutions were Vlade Matas, head of the Split branch office, on behalf of the Education Agency, Meri Maretić, Advisor for Culture, on behalf of the Split-Dalmatia County, and Mate Barun, who is also a member of the school board, on behalf of the City of Kaštela.
The guests congratulated the organizers and wished them continued success. The County Councilor for Culture, Meri Maretić, spoke in special words, saying that this initiative, which has become a tradition and a brand, is wonderful and exceptional.

Like many previous Čakavian Evenings, this one brought a handful of beautiful spoken words in Čakavian, both through drama and musical staging. The drama group of the Bijaći Dračice Elementary School performed "Tašel na duši diteta" (A Tassel on a Child's Soul), directed by Sandra Špik and Marina Pažanin. The text was written by Nataša Jukić.
- This year I wrote a short text. It's cute. It's called Tašel na duši diteta, after the collection of the same name that was published this year in collaboration with the City. It's a story that talks about the difference between life then and now, how we got lost along the way. All of this was done in a humorous way, as befits a children's performance - said Jukić.
The play starred Stipe Bartulović, Helena Deković, Jakov Lemo, Franka Matković, Lovre Rodaković, Stipe Šimera, Lucija Veljača and Anđela Vujević.
Then, a small stage play called "Pitan se" was performed, prepared by Ivana Lukas Bartulović.
The evening was enhanced by the performance of Bijaćke meštrovice and singer Nenad Vetma, as well as actors Monika Vuco carev and Ivan Baranović.
The Electric A Cappella project was presented for the first time, in which the Bijaće meštrovice girls - Mirjana Dražin, Marina Grgin, Natali Burazin, Dijana Šunjerga, Ivana Peran, and musicians Ante Cinotti, Jadran Dučić, participated, and the whole thing was shaped into a story by maestro Ivan Cinotti with his colleagues.
As part of the evening, awards were also presented to the winners of the 8th International Literary, Recitation and Art Competition. ČA in vercin, ricci and pinella. The competition is part of the program activities of the 32nd ČAkavian Evening, the oldest event in Croatian education.
