The colorful costumes, children's laughter and a real little explosion of imagination filled the hall of the Cultural Center this Wednesday, where playful lion cubs, colorful clowns, brave soldiers, beautiful fairies and princesses, cuddly kittens, sharks, zombies and puppies gathered for Šarenko's children's performance - the perfect overture to the 45th Children's Carnival.
Organized by KKU Poklade, the well-known and beloved clown Šarenko arrived on stage, to enthusiastic applause. His arrival immediately lifted the atmosphere, and with his first tricks he caused avalanches of laughter. A silly hat, colorful balloons, funny tricks... Šarenko was not just a performer - he was a real partner for the small audience. He constantly talked to the children, asked them questions, and the children listened to him, followed his instructions and enthusiastically participated in every part of the show. The stage was full of colors, props and cheerful details, and every new moment brought a new surprise.
A member of the KKU Poklade association, Mira Bonacin, emphasized the importance of this year's program:
– Given that this year we are celebrating the 45th anniversary of the children's carnival, we wanted to celebrate it in a slightly bigger way – said Mira.
The cultural center in Kaštel Lukšić was literally flooded with children accompanied by their parents, educators and teachers. Although it was a gray, rainy day outside, everything inside was bursting with colors, laughter and joy – the youngest ones painted it in the most beautiful shades.

However, the highlight of the carnival events for children is yet to come. The central day will take place on Sunday, February 1st, when Donja Kaštila will be flooded with a procession of little masquerades.
– We currently have about 900 children registered in the parade with their educators and teachers, and I think that number will reach between 950 and 1000 participants. There will be 21 points, and some of them are really numerous, with 100 to 200 children per point, so it will certainly be beautiful – announced Bonacin.
The procession, as every year, starts from Lucia's Way to the Blue Adriatic. A special surprise for children will be the performance of Mira Oštreć - last year she was welcomed as a finalist, and this year as a guest who will delight the youngest with her performance. In addition, children can expect face painting, mascots and much more fun.
The event was realized with the great support of the City of Kaštela, the Kaštela Tourist Board, and general sponsor Ribol, who will cheer up the children with juices and donuts - because a real carnival is not complete without a sweet treat and smiles on children's faces.
