Employees of the Chinese company CRBC are "full steam ahead" carrying out work on the construction of the Kozjak tunnel, which could also be broken through on the southern side in a few months. Namely, only 464 meters of service, or 626 meters of the main tunnel pipe are left. The Chinese are wasting no time, and in addition to the work on the tunnel, they are also carrying out work on wide excavations and undercuts of the future tunnel on the southern side of Kozjak, from where the road to D8, i.e. the junction in Kaštel Kambelovac, should be built, but the land acquisition is not going smoothly.
- Currently, approximately 1920 m of the main tunnel tube (GTC) and 2066 m of the service tube have been excavated. 72 sections of the secondary tunnel lining and the northern portal structure have been constructed, all together 855 m long. In addition to the tunnel breakthrough works, works are being carried out in the tunnel on the construction of the tunnel lining foundations, drainage, waterproofing and installation of reinforcement. On the south side, works on the wide excavation and slope protection of the southern fore-cut of the Kozjak tunnel are underway - said Croatian Roads.
300 plots need to be purchased, some purchases are not going smoothly
In order to build the access road to the D8, it is necessary to purchase 300 plots of land on Kozjak. And since negotiations are underway with the owners of the plots from Croatian Roads, only a short answer is possible.
- Property and legal relations are ongoing - HC states.
However, as we have learned, the owners of approximately 80 plots refused to resolve the situation peacefully, which led to the Croatian Roads being sent to the Split-Dalmatia County Office for Property and Legal Relations. They requested that their employees, accompanied by police, conduct an assessment of the plots.
USKOK also intervened.
In addition, there are four villas with swimming pools on the section that have been legalized, and according to Jutarnji list, the corridors of the road have already been drawn up in the spatial plan of the Split-Dalmatia County, and the houses were legalized after the plan was adopted, which further complicates the situation. Therefore, USKOK is investigating the legalization of the built properties.
The entire purchase is expected to be completed by April, when the Chinese company will be engaged on the road construction site. As a reminder, this Croatian Roads project, which is being implemented by CRBC, costs 120 million euros and should be completed by mid-April 2027.
