On January 22, 2026, at around 13 p.m. in Kaštel Lukšić, on the pavement of Ivan Pavla II Road, police officers stopped a car driven by a man.
During the proceedings, the driver refused to undergo a preliminary test for the presence of narcotics in his body at the request of a police officer. Further verification revealed that he had driven the vehicle before obtaining the right to drive motor vehicles of any category.
Due to the committed offenses, the man was arrested and, after being processed for a misdemeanor, was placed in the detention facilities of the Split-Dalmatia Police Department, after which he was brought to the competent court.
The police requested his detention due to the risk of repeating the offense, given that he was recorded in the Ministry of Interior records as a perpetrator of the offense of operating a vehicle without passing a driving test of any category, and a prison sentence of 90 days.
The court ordered 15 days of detention in prison, while the final decision on sanctions will be made later.
