The pharmacy in Kaštel Gomilica at Marka Marulića 2A will automate its warehouse with two robotic arms that will manage its drug supplies, and the value of the project is estimated at 220.000 euros.
According to the recently announced public procurement, two robotic arms will autonomously take medicines from shelves and deliver them to pharmacists in just 20 seconds. This means that customers will receive their medicine faster because pharmacists will not waste time searching for it on the shelves. The system will automatically monitor expiration dates and issue products that are about to expire first, which will significantly reduce the write-off of medicines.
It will also be able to accept drug packages, so pharmacists won't have to manually enter each box. The drugs will be scanned, their expiration dates will be read, dimensions will be checked, and they will be automatically stacked on shelves. If the power goes out, the system will continue to operate for 90 minutes thanks to an uninterruptible power supply.
To prevent counterfeit medicines from entering the pharmacy, each individual package will be monitored through serialization. Temperature and humidity will be constantly recorded, and air conditioning will maintain storage conditions between 18 and 25 degrees. Video cameras will monitor the operation of robotic arms and automatically detect errors.
Regular service must be included in the price throughout the warranty period, and the service center must respond to a breakdown within six hours.
The selected bidder must install the system, train employees and put the warehouse into operation within 85 days of signing the contract. Bids must be submitted electronically no later than 9 a.m. on February 6, 2026.
