
Over the weekend, police intervened in Štafilić when an intoxicated driver crashed into a parked car. It was also determined that he was driving the vehicle, and his license was taken away due to accumulated negative points. In addition, in Sućurac, police stopped a driver who was driving despite a ban and refused a drug test, and he was booked into prison.
- On Saturday at around 00:20, a 47-year-old driver caused a traffic accident with material damage by hitting a parked vehicle in Kaštel Štafilić, after which he left the scene. Police officers soon found him near the scene of the traffic accident and determined that he was intoxicated. His blood alcohol concentration was measured at 1,89 g/kg, and during the procedure he insulted and cursed at police officers. It was also determined that he was driving a vehicle even though his driving license had been revoked due to the accumulation of 21 negative points.
He committed a total of six misdemeanors, for which, after sobering up, he was taken to court. In addition to detention, it was proposed that he be punished with a prison sentence of 90 days, a fine in the amount of 790 euros and a two-year ban on driving a vehicle. The court ordered him to be detained for 15 days, after which he was sent to prison - according to the police.
Kaštel Sućurac: Repeat driver drove despite ban, refused drug test, sent to prison
On Saturday, at around 2 a.m., police officers from the Kaštela Police Station in the Kaštel Sućurac area stopped a driver who was driving a vehicle despite having a protective measure prohibiting him from driving a category B vehicle. During the control, he refused the police officer's request to undergo a preliminary drug test. He also did not have a driver's license or ID card.
He was arrested and taken to court. The court ordered the 37-year-old to be detained for seven days, after which he was sent to prison.
