Due to the large amount of rain that has fallen in the wider Split area in recent days, the water at the source of the Jadro River has become cloudy.
The results of water testing taken at various locations in the water supply network, depending on the stocks in the water tanks and the intensity of consumption, show that in several parts of the water supply system, the turbidity parameter is slightly elevated compared to the prescribed values.
Analyzes from the field also show that the concentration of residual chlorine is in an adequate concentration, and all previous tests show that the water is chemically and microbiologically correct.
Given the current practice, experience and recommendations of the National Institute of Public Health, it is recommended to use the precautionary measure of boiling drinking water for sick and sensitive people, small children and the elderly. In the event of more pronounced turbidity, the water must be settled before boiling, and only the clear part must be poured out and boiled.
The situation in the water supply system is continuously monitored and consumers will be informed of any changes in a timely manner through official media and our website. www.vik-split.hr
