On this craziest night of the year, which most often brings with it excessive alcohol consumption, disruption of public order and peace, and the improper use of pyrotechnics in the Kaštela area, emergency services had their hands full.
Child seriously injured by fireworks
During the New Year's celebration in the Kaštela area, a child (born in 2014) was seriously injured and brought to the hospital with his parents. Namely, during the celebration, the child used a pyrotechnic device and tried to set off a pyrotechnic device from the balcony of his house, which exploded in his hand. He suffered serious injuries to his hand, was given medical attention, and was later released from the hospital.
Gas explosion in the Divulje area, two men suffered burns to their faces and hands
On New Year's Eve, December 31st, at around 1:30 p.m., Kaštela emergency medical personnel brought two men (born 1981 and 1988) to the hospital with burns to their faces and hands. The men were kept in the hospital for further treatment. It was determined that they were injured in a facility in the Divulje area.
An on-site investigation was conducted with the participation of fire protection inspectors. It was determined that an explosion and a small fire occurred in a room used as a gas leak. No elements of a criminal offense were established in the incident.
Firefighters put out grass fires and helped in traffic accidents in Trogir and Radošić
Kaštela firefighters had their hands full on New Year's Eve and New Year's Eve. They extinguished grass fires in the Gomilica and Sućurac areas and intervened in traffic accidents in Trogir and Radošić.
The first call was received by the Kaštel Gomilica Fire Department at 3:54 pm. It was a grass fire, and a total of 100 m2 was burned. The fire was extinguished with the quick intervention of three firefighters with one vehicle.
The second report arrived shortly after the first, at 4:20 p.m., and it was about a meadow fire, also in Kaštel Gomilica. A total of 500 m2 was burned. Two firefighters from the Kaštel Gomilica Fire Department arrived on the scene with one vehicle and extinguished the fire.
At 11:20 p.m., firefighters received a report of an open space fire in Kaštel Sućurac. 600 m2 of grass and vegetation were burned. With the quick intervention of four firefighters from the Mladost Fire Department with two vehicles and four firefighters from the Gomilica Fire Department with two vehicles, the fire was extinguished at 11:46 p.m.
At around 5:15 p.m. on the D8 road, near the intersection for Plano, a traffic accident occurred involving two passenger vehicles, in which four people were injured, as we reported yesterday. писалиFive firefighters from the Kaštela Fire Department with two vehicles also intervened in the traffic accident.
A new traffic accident occurred this morning, at around 1,45 am on the ŽC 6098 road, in the Radošić area. It was determined that a 42-year-old man who was driving a vehicle while intoxicated (1,13 g/kg) did not adjust the vehicle speed to the conditions and state of the roadway and, entering a bend, lost control of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and stop on a dirt surface. The driver was transported for medical assistance, was slightly injured and is being held in hospital. As many as eight members of the Kaštela DVD intervened in this traffic accident with two vehicles.
