On Monday, December 29, 2025, at around 10:20 p.m., a personal vehicle driven by a 27-year-old man before acquiring the right to drive a motor vehicle of any category was stopped in Kaštel Novi because his driving license was revoked due to the accumulation of 12 negative misdemeanor points and he cannot apply for the issuance of the same within two years, i.e. until March 2027.
Also, at the request of police officers, he refused to undergo preliminary testing to determine the presence of drugs or medication in his body, i.e. to have blood and urine taken for analysis. On that occasion, a small quantity of various drugs was found and seized from him.
Given the fact that he is a multiple repeater of traffic violations, his vehicle was temporarily confiscated so that he would not continue committing traffic violations. He was taken to court, it was proposed that he be detained, sentenced to 60 days in prison, fined in the total amount of 2,500 euros and his vehicle permanently confiscated.
The court conducted the proceedings, found him guilty, sentenced him to 120 days in prison and made a decision on the permanent confiscation of the vehicle.
